Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.  I was away for the weekend.

I'm pretty sure you're referring to a segment of a 1952 black & white,  20th Century Fox
All Star cast film "O. Henry's Full House".  It had five of O.Henry's short stories,..with "The
Gift of The Magi", one of the longest, and best remembered.  It starred Jeanne Crain and Farley Granger as the young married couple.
