Question
Hello Andrew,
I am taking a film studies course, which i am not doing so hot in i might add, and we just watched Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window." One question i don't know how to answer is how are jeff and Thorvald similar? and the other is "Who has the final "look" of the film and why?" i am not really sure what the latter of the two means, i was hoping you would. Also, i would appreciate it if you could answer this question by 2PM on Wed. 9/24. I know it's last minute but i was so desperate and I had just found this website and i thought what the heck. So, i would appreciate a response asap. Thank you for your time.

Answer
I hope you do recieve this in time. Jeff and Thornwald are similar because they are both alone and are seeking adventure. Jeff being a photo journalist taking dramatic pictures and thornwald taking out his wife to be with another woman, both leading dangerous paths.  I am not exactly sure what is being asked about having the final "look" of the film. I would have to say that Jeff has the final look because he has accomplished his task however he has also appeared to open the door for a long term romance with his girlfriend (Grace Kelly) so that also gives her the final look since she went from someone far from a dangerous life to being involved with Jeffs life. I hope this helps.
