Classic Film/Movie

Question
I'm trying to find two movies. The first plot: A couple takes their two teenage daughters on European cruise. They spend time in Spain, but can't remember  exactly where else. The oldest daughter falls for a military man and he pursues her. I loved the fashion in this movie. Second movie plot: two girls are in boarding school and their parents are "Vaudeville" performers. The oldest daughter is ashamed of her parents and it hurts the parents feelings. Both movies were shown in color although I'm  not sure if it was filmed that way. My guess is that they were filmed in the 1950's since the interior decor relates to that era. Hope you can help! Thanks so much

Answer
Hi Rheba,

Thanks for your questions.  I can help you with One of the movies you've described, but am not sure of the other one.

Regarding the first plot,...the only film that comes to mind is the 1962 comedy (made by
Walt Disney, of all studios)...starring  Fred Mac Murray and Jane Wyman as the Mom and Dad who take their kids on a European vacation.  HOWEVER,...they go to Paris, and the two kids are a  girl (who falls in love there), and a boy.  It was called "Bon Voyage" and is available at :
www.amazon.com on DVD.

I'm sure of the second film.  It was one of my favorite musicals that I saw as a kid.  made by
20th Century Fox in 1947 in glorious technicolor,  it was called "Mother Wore Tights", and starred one of the best musical teams of the 40's and 50's, Betty Grable and Dan Dailey.
I believe it's only available on VHS (expensive at Amazon),...but SHOULD eventually be available on DVD.

Sincerely,
