Classic Film/Name of a movie

Question
Hi there, I have a scantly memory of a Black and White movie. The Hero/actor lives in a basement and he was poor and could have been a script writer or a reporter. The Heroine/Actress was a rich lady. She had accidentally entered the house of the actor while hiding from some people. The hero being poor had an agreement with her that she would have to pay him for hiding her. And thats how the romance began. And well I also remember the hero taking the heroine to his home (village/town).. in a very long ride on a sunny day. I would be very glad if you can tell me the name of the movie. Thanks in advance

Answer
Good day!
I don't know exactly if this is what you're looking for, but the film that found that most closely matches your description is "Woman In Hiding" with Ida Lupino.
Now, it doesn't exactly match your description, but it comes close enough for me to recommend that you check it out.
I would be happy to do more research for you if this is not the film you were looking for. (Especially if you remember any more details, such as who any of the stars might have been, why the heroine was hiding, etc.) I hope that this was helpful!
                      Cheers,
                                   ~J.

I can answer almost any question relating to any of the Marx Brothers or their films. Their personal lives were, I believe, twice as interesting as their professional personas.

Experience

I have read many books on the subject including the memoirs of the two most famous Marx Brothers, Groucho and Harpo as well as "Growing up with Chico" the only book written expressly about Chico Marx. Also, I have done exstensive research on all of the brothers, my senior paper being on the subject of their lives.
