Classic Film/classic adventure film- maybe Sinbad

Question
years ago, I saw a black & white movie . I thought the hero was Sinbad. It
was about a city held captive by the villain named El kareem (not certain of
the spelling).  El kareem has a sword fight with the hero and the hero pierces
the villian's heart, the villain laughs at him because his heart is not there but
magically held in a castle far away where the hero goes on a quest to find his
heart that is held in a fortress. Meanwhile the villian holds the town captive
and will execute the princess, who is sinbad's love, if she refuses to marry
him.  Does this ring any bells? I don't know when it was made or even who
starred in it-- only that it was a fun movie. Thanks for any help.

Answer
Hi George,

I'm pretty sure that you're referring to a 1963 film called "Captain Sindbad", starring Guy Williams  (of TV's "Lost in Space" and "Zorro" fame), made in Germany!   However it was in color.

Go to this site for a fun rundown on the film:

You can also find out more about the film , with comments from viewers, who also loved the movie at:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056904     and

I believe a VHS is available at :  www.amazon .com   for $22.00.    But if you also go to :
www.google.com , (and type in : "Captain Sindbad"),  you may be able to find a DVD copy somewhere.   Enjoy.
