hi,i remember seeing this film like 18 years ago, and it was a black and white film, in English, starting with a group of people coming to a castle to spend the night,i think.
there was a murder planed , but the girl that was supposed to be killed switched rooms with another girl, and the other one got killed by mistake. it was a comedy, and the ghost of the girl that got killed was always wandering around the house like a normal person. t is not a very good description but i hope it helps, i would really want to see it again, i could never forget it!

Yes, I know the film you're describing !  It's a wonderful classic comedy/mystery made in 1941 called "Topper Returns."

In 1937, the first in the two-film series, "Topper" (played by Roland Young) was released.
Cary Grant and Constance Bennett played a husband and wife who were killed and came back to haunt their friend 'Topper'.   The film was such a success, that "Topper Returns" was made.

This time only Roland Young returned,..and Joan Blondell played the girl who was mistakenly killed (instead of Carole  Landis.)     Joan helps Roland, Carole and Dennis O'Keefe solve the crime in this "haunted" house, with the help of Eddie Rochester" Anderson.  Lots of fun!!
