Question
Can you help? I'm trying to remember an old American black/white movie I saw as a child. It featured a family with lots of young children, and the boys went about in caps. It may have been a musical and I think the title had something to do with a lake. Thanks!

Answer
Hi C,

The only film I can think of about a family with many children (and boys in caps) is 20th Century Fox's 1950 film, "Cheaper By The Dozen" starring
Clifton Webb and Myrna Loy as parents of 12 children in the U.S. of the 1920's.  (There was a sequel called "Bells On Their Toes" a few years later.)

A full synopsis of the plot can be found at:   http://www.tcm.com:80/tcmdb/title.jsp?stid=70716.

The VHS and DVD can be found at :  www.amazon.com

Hope this was what you were looking for.

Sincerely,

Jim K.
