Question
There was a movie that use to show at Chrismas time. 1930's or 40's. It was
about these homeless people that would stay in rich people's houses after they
left for Florida for the winter. It was New York City I think. They would gain
access to the homes through loose fence panels. Through the movie several
families and others gathered in this one home and spent christmas there. I
think the title had a number of the street in the title. Can you help me?

Answer
Hi Maria,

Yes, I know the film you've asked about.  I saw it as a kid, and loved it  (also because it had several songs in it.)
It was released by Allies Artists/Monogram Pictures in 1947:  "IT HAPPENED ON 5TH AVENUE", starring Gale Storm, Don DeFore, Victor Moore and Charlie Ruggles.
