Classic Film/Question about a Classic Comedy

Question
Please Help-
I saw a portion of a classic film (color) without the sound (at a bar) and could not figure out the title. The film seemed to be a precursor to Ab Fab. An american film with two famous female leads who seemed to get into a number of drunken antics. One of the women or both lived in a huge mansion with a young blond haired boy about age 7. Of the two female actors, one of the women had blond hair and the other was brunette. In one scene the blond gets completely drunk and passes out in the brunette's bed....the brunette tries and tries to wake her and they stumble around the room...eventually, one of the women ends up with a feathered hair piece on crying while the other woman dons a blue gown an prepares to go with a gentleman. In another scene the two women with their respective male companions perform on stage to an audience that is falling asleep. The audience wakes up in hysterics because the two women are competing to upstage each other and inadvertently create quite a calamity. During the curtain call, the women continue to argue while attempting to ingratiate the audience. A brief struggle occurs as the curtain drops trapping one of the women on stage. Her husband or a male companion has to drag her under the curtain. Sadly I don't know any of the actors in the film but am desperately trying to figure out the title. Even with no sound, the movie was a riot and had me in complete stitches. I would love to watch the entire movie with sound.

Any help with the title of the film would be great.
Thanks

Answer
Hi "D",

Thanks for your question.  From your description,...the only (somewhat) similar story I could come up with is:

The Banger Sisters (2002)

When fiftysomething Suzette loses her job as a bartender she decides to make a road trip to visit her old friend Vinnie who she hasn't seen since their days as groupies back in the day. On the way she meets Harry, a nervous writer who says he is going home to confront his father, then shows her his gun. Once they reach their destination Suzette finds that Vinnie is now Lavinia, a conservative housewife who is reluctant to reexperience the flower power of her youth, and Harry finds confrontation with himself rather than with his father. Written by Peter Brandt Nielsen
In Los Angeles, when the bartender Suzette is fired from the club where she works, she decides to travel to Phoenix and visit her friend and also former groupie of twenty years ago Vinnie to borrow some money. While on the road, she runs out of gas and without any money, she accepts to bring the stressed loser writer Harry Plummer and in return he would pay for the gasoline. When she meets her old friend, now Mrs. Lavinia Kingsley, she finds a very conservative and traditional housewife, married with the successful lawyer Raymond Kingsley and mother of two complicated teenagers, Hanna and Ginger. Their interaction along a few days improves their lives. Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
