Question
Hi,
I was watching a clip from a black and white film the other night, but i don't recall the title of the film. It had something to do with a man who asks a teacher to help teach his young wife something with books. They end up falling in love..
I think it was a 1950's film.       Sorry if i don't have much information, i only saw a brief part of the movie. A little help would be great! (:

Answer
Hi Stephanie,

From what you've described, I think that perhaps ( with a few changes) you're looking for the
1950 Columbia Pictures comedy/drama, "Born Yesterday" with Judy Holiday, William Holden, and Broderick Crawford.

A mobster hires a reporter to "make a lady"  out of his (he thinks) dumb girlfriend, before he marries her, in order to impress Washington higher-ups.  But she turns out to be smarter than he thinks, while she also falls in love with the newsman.

To see if this is the film,...go to :     tcm.com/tcmdb/title.jsp?stid=69435
for full details.
It's also available on VHS and DVD at Amazon.com
