I'm trying to trace a film where a man and woman crash their car into a tree. I'm pretty sure that they are dead after that but as ghosts can maybe do something that makes them come back to life ... that's all I can remember. Hope you can help. Thank you.

Yes, I know exactly the film you're looking for !   It's a classic comedy film based on a famous  novel of the 1930's,  called "Topper", released in 1937.

It starred Roland Young as "Topper",.....and also Cary Grant and Constance Bennett as wealthy socialites who are killed in a car crash;.... but, since this was a comedy,...they hang around to haunt Topper until they can finally leave this world.

A sequel was made several years later ( with Roland Young, Carole Landis, and Joan Blondell.)
