Question
Hey,

First of all, thanks in advance.

So here's the deal: I saw a movie on A&E as a kid in the 90s. It seemed like the film was from the sixties or possibly the fifties, I can't remember much but I think the main character was an amnesiac and he worked for some type of corporation, maybe in California. There was also something about his memories being mixed up and things not being as they appeared.

Sorry! that's all I can remember, if you can think of anything please help. I think it was in color.

Answer
Hello Doug,

I can't be absolutely certain, but that sounds like a 1965 Gregory Peck film called "Mirage", except that it was made in black & white. Diane Baker, Walter Matthau, Lief Erickson, and George Kennedy co-starred.

STORY OUTLINE:
"An accountant's memory suddenly becomes mixed up, starting from the moment the building he works in has a power blackout. He is bewildered, unable to recall even simple particulars of his job, and places he does remember don't exist. Believing he has some form of amnesia, he tries to backtrack what happened before the blackout. Aided by a rookie detective and confused by an old girl friend, he tries to make sense of inconsistent facts while people around him are being murdered."
