Classic Film/Movie title help!

Question
Many years ago I watched a classic movie late at night on AMC, I just loved the movie, but don't remember the name of it.  I only saw it once, but I remember the plot vividly.  It was set during WWII I believe and a young girl was writing letters to soldiers pretending to be her older sister.  She was doing this to build the morale of the soldiers.  One particular soldier fell in love with the writer of the letter and the girl invited him to her house.  She convinced her sister to play along and pretend to be the woman writing the letter.  The older sister was supposed to be dating or going to be engaged to an employee or co-worker of their father's.  I believe there is some comedy in this situation.  Of course what ended up happening was that the soldier and the older sister fell in love.  If anyone could help me find the title of this movie so I can buy it would be great.  Thanks so much.

Answer
Hi Jessica,

I'm pretty sure the movie you're looking for is Paramount Studios 1947 film, "Dear Ruth", starring Mona Freeman as the teenager, Joan Caulfield as the older sister, and William Holden as the soldier.

You can read the full synopsis at :   http://www.tcm.com:80/tcmdb/title.jsp?stid=72606

I don;t think it's ever been released on VHS or DVD  (except in private copies),...but you can always check  Google .com   or eBay, to see if anyone has copies for sale.
