Question
My father has recently discovered an old Roy Rogers 8mm film titled, Silver Fox Hunt.  The film appears to be in great shape and without scratches.  Could it be worth something? Any help you can give me would be great.

Answer
Hi Stephanie,

The film your father has is an 8mm copy of an episode of  the old 1950's TV show, " The Roy Rogers Show".   It was shown during the 2nd season of the series way back on April 19, 1953.

I'd imagine back then,  and probably some years later, it was sold  just like VHS copies, and now, DVD copies of TV shows.   ( Since it isn't a 16mm copy,..it wasn't one that the TV Networks used to send out to local TV stations to broadcast.)

I do know that the show is included on several R. Rogers DVDs.  It's on the "Roy Rogers Show" DVD. Vol 16,......and also on the "Roy Rogers with Dale Evans" DVD .    You can check these all out at Amazon.com, and also on Google .com

So, I really don't know what it might be worth.  I'd think a "collector" with an 8mm projector, ..or equipment to transfer it,..might be interested.

I hope you'll submit this question to several of the other Experts, who might be able to help you further.

Sincerely,

Jim Kason
