Question
This movie seems to be set somewhere in the 1940s-1950s. It's a black and white British film about a man who discovers he can walk through walls. The opening scene starts with him being drunk and accidentally falling through a door while he was trying to unlock it. The film ends with him pushing his wife through a wall only to discover he can't go through walls anymore. I was wondering, do you know the name of this film?

Thanks so much,
Courtney W.

Answer
Hello Courtney,

I think you are remembering a 1951 French comedy film called "Le passe-muraille". An English-speaking version was made at the same time which was titled "Mr. Peek-A-Boo". It starred the French comedy actor Bourvil and the English actress Joan Greenwood.

STORY OUTLINE: Léon, a humble civil servant, has the unusual ability to walk through walls. One day he falls madly in love with a charming hotel thief by the name of Suzan. In order to impress her he poses as Garou-Garou, a dangerous gangster. Mistaken for him, he is arrested and sent to jail but of course, he leaves his cell (and re-enters it) whenever he likes, infuriating the prison warden. But, despite this wonderful gift, he remains shy in the presence of Suzan.

Have a look here........
