There was an old movie that I vaguely remember from childhood.  It seems I remember the setting being a tropical island.  The only character from the movie that I even vaguely remember was called Morgantani (phonetic sp.)  I'd love to find out the name of that movie though I only remember the barest of details from the movie.

I think that the movie you're looking for may be the 1953 United Artist's film,  "Return To Paradise" starring Gary Cooper.
