Classic Film/Help with a classic movie title

QuestionHi, and thank you for the help. I saw this movie on TV, but I believe it’s from the late 30’s or 40’s. I think the star was Red Skelton, The plot was about a spy ring, I think they were Nazi’s. I think red Skelton falls in love with a girl that worked with the spy ring, they are planning to blow up a new US war ship at its Christening in the Brooklyn shipyard. The parts that I’m sure of are, the spy ring is going to try to blow up the ship at the Christening. I think the star was a Taxi driver. He falls in love with a girl that has something to do with the spy ring and they try to pin a murder on him. I’ve looked at all of the movies listed for Red Skelton on IMDB, but can’t find one that fits. He might have been playing as Wally Benton, "The Fox". Well that’s about all I can remember so any help would be great. Thank you
AnswerHello Evan,
This sounds very much like the 1941 Humphrey Bogart film, "All Through The Night".
PLOT OUTLINE: Broadway gambler Gloves Donahue wants to find who killed the baker of his favorite cheesecake. He sees nightclub singer Leda Hamilton leaving the bakery. When her boss Marty's partner Joe is murdered, Leda and her accompanist Pepi disappear. It turns out that beneath all the mystery is a gang of Nazi operatives planning to blow up a battleship in New York harbor.
