I once saw an old movie on TV, was probably from the 1940's, a romantic film involving time travel.  The actress had dark hair, and was someone like Ann Blyth or Jennifer Jones (not Portrait of Jenny)

Hi Judy,

I'm pretty sure the film you're looking for ( since you mentioned Ann Blyth ), is one of My all-time favorites, the 1951 20th Century Fox production, "I'll Never Forget You", starring Tyrone Power. Ann Blyth and Michael Rennie.

As I recall, it started in black and white, and then when Tyrone Power was sent back in time to the 18th century, the film switched to color.
