Classic Film/Old black and white ghost film

Question
I am trying to find the name of an old black and white film, possibly 30s or 40s, and possibly British.  It was about a woman who was widowed and moved to a house by the sea.  She had a maid with her.  The ghost of her husband visited her over the years and many years later she died and he came back for her.  I think when they left as ghosts she was young again.  Most of the film took place in her bedroom as I recall with her sat in a chair.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Lisa,

Yes, I DO indeed know the film you're looking for.  I saw it as a young boy,...and remember it well.  It's always been one of my favorites.  It's the 1947  20th Century Fox film, "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir", starring Gene Tierney, Rex Harrison, and George Sanders.  (It was later turned into a popular TV comedy/drama starring Hope Lange and Edward Mulhare.)   The musical score by Bernard Hermann was most beautiful and haunting.

For the complete story and "full synopsis",..go to:  http://www.tcm.com:80/tcmdb/title.jsp?stid=76188

And for additional info, go to:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ghost_and_Mrs._Muir

It's available on DVD (and VHS)  at :  www.amazon.com   for about $14.00 or less.
