Hi,  A long time ago, I saw a classic movie about a teenage musical prodigy who goes to live with her older distant relative ( a guardian) and eventually falls in love with him.  I also vaguely remember that the girl may have had some mental illness.  I cant remember the title or actors.  Any ideas?

Hello Bex,

I'm not absolutely sure that this is the film you've described,...but it sounds close enough to be a film that I saw as a child,...and even tho' very young, made an impression on me.   ( I started taking piano lessons that year ! )  I think it might be the classic 1945 British film, "The Seventh Veil" starring James Mason and Ann Todd.

I particularly remember the scene where Mason slams his cane down on Todd's fingers as she's playing the piano.
