I am looking for an old movie that was about a french canadian trapper that took a mute wife.  They didn't get along at first. She had to cut his leg off when he got it caught in one of his traps to save his life.  She ended up leaving him to trek back to town.  In the end she realized she loved him and came back.  Do you know the name of this movie?
