Classic Film/ghost movie

Question
I just watched a ghost movie last week on TV in the U.S. EST.
It is black and white and I believe the movie is dated back to 1951. It was a supposed ghost movie, but almost seemed as though the lady of the house had schizophrenia. The lady was taking care of two children, a boy and girl. They played games on her. There was also a housekeeper. It was a large house near the water. At the end of the movie, it showed a person's hand as though it was rising from the dead, if I remember correctly. The lady of the house kept seeing a ghost (who I think was the mother of the children). The lady of the house, kept saying, "don't you see her? over there?" The lady of the house drove the little girl to insanity and gave the little boy a heart attack or something from emotional exhaustion when she was trying to confront the boy about his past. The little girl and boy were about 8 years old.
Thank you so much for your help! I appreciate all that you do. This is the first time I have submitted a question for an expert and look forward to a reply. Have a great day! I will be submitting another question, which I will be truly amazed if my question on the movie title is answered.

Answer
Hello Julia,

I have replied to your other posting.

I believe you may be referring to the 1961 film "The Innocents", which starred Deborah Kerr. The only problem is that it was black & white.  Have a look here.........

It was re-made in 1971 as "The Nightcomers" starring Marlon Brando and Stephanie Beacham. This one was in colour. Have a look here......
