Question
Hi Jim, Sorry to bother you but I am going crazy trying to remember the title of a movie I saw many years ago. I appreciate your expertise so here goes my sparse recollection: Blk & Wht, probably 1940's maybe 50's. Woman star role is actually a sociopathic villain. She is terribly jealous of anyone associated with her husband/boyfriend and drowns his son/brother in a lake by their house after they get married and makes it look like an accident. I think they were all getting the real picture when she commits suicide and frames either her husband and/or her sister? up for her death. It goes to trial and... I think they figured it out but now I don't know. Do you remember this movie? I'm even a classic movie fan so this is that much more embarrassing. Appreciate the help!!!  Look forward to hearing from you. ~ Lorrie

Answer
Hi Lorrie,

No bother,...especially regarding this film which has always been a favorite of mine.  (I saw it as a kid, and associated with the young brother.)  It was 20th Century Fox's drama,"Leave Her To Heaven" starring Gene Tierney, Cornel Wilde, and Jeanne Crain.

You can go to the following two sites for loads of info on the film,...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leave_Her_to_Heaven
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037865

And, it IS available at: www.amazon.com     on DVD, on which the young brother, Darryl Hickman ( now in his 70's) gives a running narration and comments.   I knew Darryl in Hollywood when I lived there.

Sincerely,

Jim K.
