Classic Film/name of black and white movie

Question
I watched this movie long ago so my memories are vague. I hope this is enough info:

- black and white film,  earlier rather than later (i.e. 1930s/early 40s)

the story involves a girl and her family (she is the oldest daughter amongst a few siblings and they all live in quite a small house)

most of the scenes happened in the house of the girls family and also a little cafe/diner near the beach/seaside that had an open gas station attatched to it.

- the cafe/diner is a main part of the movie. I believe the girl worked there

there is a romantic element involved with the older daughter (who is one of the main characters) and a man

The title has some/one of these words in it 'meadow' 'yellow' 'path'
it was something like 'around the meadow' 'across the yellow path' / 'down the yellow path' 'down the meadow'

Answer
Hi Anna,

I'm not positive, but the only film I can think of which might be the one you're looking for is the
1940 RKO Film, "Primrose Path" starring Ginger Rogers and Joel McCrea.

If you go to :   http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title.jsp?stid=2598
and click on : "[+] Read full synopsis" in the center of the page, ...you'll find the complete
story line.  Hope this helps.

The film is available on VHS and DVD at: www.amazon.com.

Sincerely,

Jim K
