Question
Hi Jim. What was the name of that music in the movie "Seven" starring Morgan Freeman" who is a detective when he is in this library investigating crimes of a serial killer? The music began when a security guard turned on the radio. All sounds are played with violens. I've been playing the piano for 14 years now and would like to learn this song.

Have a blessed day

Answer
Hi Sterling,

I'm not positive about this,...since I haven't seen the film, but, in checking a list of all the music, then I think , since there's lots of popular music as background,...there are only two real possibilities for the violin music.
The first was something written for the film,:   "Gypsy Csardas"by J. Leach and G. Fenton.

But, the More probable answer would be, one of my all time favorite classical pieces:
Johann Sebastian Bach's "Suite No.3 in D Major",
which is Better known as "Air For G String".

There IS a CD Sound track recording of the film, with that selection in it.  You can go to:

http://www.amazon.com/Se7en-Original-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack/dp/B000000GSU/ref...

which is the Amazon.com site, and listen to a bit of it.  But, on YouTube, you can find dozens of performances of it.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Jim K.
