Question
Dear Jim, As a young man (now 68), I viewed a Glen Ford film with a plot showing him escorting a heiress cross country to her home. I believe he was an ex-race car driver and she was an aspiring race car driver. I believe one scene showed a car where the Ford character had removed the engine and left a sign saying, "three cheers for Nellie the Nut; she lost the race, but saved her butt." I seem to recall that she thought he assisted her for an offered reward, while all he requested was a return of his actual expenses. My question is, do you know the title and other stars of this film?  Thanks, Doug

Answer
Hi Doug,

Thanks for your question.  I'm not absolutely certain that this is the movie you're looking for,...but read the plot of the film at the following site, and see if it comes close.  It's the
1963 film, "Love is a Ball", starring Glenn Ford, Hope Lange, Charles Boyer and Ricardo Montalban.

Unfortunately it hasn't been released on VHS or DVD,...but perhaps you can find a copy from a private owner/collector who taped it from TV years ago.  ( On: www.eBay.com,...or  www.ioffer.com)

Sincerely,

Jim K.
