I am looking for the title of a movie from the 50's where an attack of fire ants threaten to destroy all that a rich white land owner has built in Africa? Female lead doesn't want to be there with the male lead.

If you change the location from Africa to South America, then that's the exact storyline of the 1954 film "The Naked Jungle".

It starred Charlton Heston as the cocoa plantation owner and Eleanor Parker as his mail-order bride, fighting against a 20 mile long army of ants that are threatening to destroy everything he has built up over the years.
