Hi Mel,
  This morning I was watching the movie, Humoresque, with Joan Crawford and John Garfield. In it John Garfield is an accomplished violinist.  I was wondering if he really was playing the violin  in the movie or if it was someone else.

Hello Barb,

No, it wasn't him playing, but it was very cleverly filmed with two professional violinists standing on either side of Garfield, one to bow and one to finger. The actual music was performed by Isaac Stern.
