About Kirsten Expertise I can answer most questions regarding films from the last seventy years. I am well-informed regarding film theory as well. My main focus is the films of the sixties and seventies, and I can answer most questions regarding these films, their stars, their directors, and even their producers. I can answer questions concerning the foreign films of the sixties and seventies as well as the pioneers of those films (i.e. Fellini, Truffaut, De Sica, Kurosawa, Renoir, Rosselini, etc.) I am also well-informed regarding the auteur method and those who popularized this film method in America (i.e. Warren Beatty, Dennis Hopper, John Cassavetes, etc.) I am a good source regarding Academy Awards history as well. I would also be a good source of information regarding films being interchangeable with war(especially Vietnam), certain political movements, as well as time periods and eras in general. I can recommend several movies for any war, era, or subject you are interested in. I am very familiar with the independant film movement, both the one that began in the late sixties and early seventies, as well as the slightly subtler one that is going on right now. I will extensively research every question I receive to make sure I provide you with a detailed, well-rounded answer.
Experience I am the daughter of two independant film-makers, both of whom earned degrees in film from UCLA. I have seen almost any film you can imagine, and have access to reviews of those that I haven't seen. I have taken several courses in film study, and plan to begin my major in film studies at Chapman University next year. I have countless books and documentaries regarding films, film history, and certain film movements.

Question I am trying to remember the name of a film I saw about 40 years ago. Leading man with mustache criminal/con man or detective/reporter takes in young girl, comedy, heart warming ending, not little miss marker or remake, circa 40's, possibly Barrymore or rough description look alike.
Answer Hi John, thanks for the question. My deepest apologies regarding the delay! I am a collegiate athlete and have been out of state throughout the past week due to matches, therefore have been unable to tend to my questions. My apologies.
As to your question, this is a very, very broad description, and fits the majority of the films that were released during the 1940s era. Therefore, it would take many more specifics, and a tad bit more information, in order for me to lead you to the title you're looking for. I will continue to do some further research, and if I come across anything that may narrow down the list of possible titles, I will be sure to let you know.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help here. I apologize for the inconvenience. Happy holidays.
