Question
Saw this movie many yearsa ago and cannot recall the title.
The main female actress reminds me of someone "like" Patricia neal..but I did a search in her Bio and couldn't find the movie.
Here is the plot outline....
Its in the early years possibly early 1900's and a family living in the wilderness is struggling to make ends meet.
There are several children.
Sickness comes and one of the children must be quarenteened. He survives but then the father catches it and dies. The mother is left with all these kids. She gets sick and knows she is going to die so she calls her oldest son (about 12 yrs old) into her room and tells him he must be strong and go out and find homes for each of his brothers and sisters.
(Heart wrenching!!!)
So one by one he takes them around to all the neighbors after his mothers death and gives them away.
Of course they all want to stay together, but he knows its for the best...
Please help me discover the name of this movie so I can search for it to view it once more!
AnswerHi Pat;
I an more than a little sure the name of the movie is' All Mine to Give"
The movie starred Glynis Johns, and I just saw a copy of it under a search for VHS in amazon.com
they might also have it in DVD. I didn't check. moviesunlimited.com didn't have it at all.
There was a TV movie on Halmark Or one of those sopecial movie theaters on TV, and I thinkmit starred Patricia Neal.
I know I saw Patricia Neal on An epsode of Little house on the Prarie, she played a widow with several children, who knew she was dieing, and she decided who aould get each of her children, and found homes for them before she did.
In the movie I saw, the oldest child that was placing his younger brothers and susters was a son. He found homes for all the children.
I was really a tear jerker.
So was the made of rTV one,and the episode of Little house on the Prairie.
That was a true story that happened around the tuen of the century, and it was a popular theme for a movie or TV show, so it was done several times.
