Classic Film/Romance/Drama, Father/Daughter Fall in Love While Overseas

QuestionThe genre is probably drama/romance and I believe is in TechniColor. The main characters are an older man and a younger woman, who the older man falls in love with.
The man is some kind of architect or engineer and travels overseas and is involved in the construction of dams.
While on a trip, he bumps into a young couple (male/female) on a train. The younger female seems to show mild interest.
Some time passes and again, he bumps into her on a train, except this time, she is alone. The two hook up and travel some together and fall in love.
Along the way, he apparently finds out this girl he has fallen in love with is his daughter from a failed marriage (or relationship). He seems to be uncertain what he wants to do but apparently decides not to deviate from the relationship.
While in some country together, she gets bitten by a snake and then falls and bumps her head on a rock when she falls from the snake bite. I remember the couple in a truck when they are going back into town to get her some medical attention.
When this happens, the mother figures out that the father and daughter are having a relationship and while the daughter is recouperating the mother keeps the father and daughter apart. The daughter dies, apparently from a broken heart and never finds out that she fell in love and had a relationship with her father.
The end of the movie shows the father watching a reel-reel movie and he is wearing sunglasses.
AnswerHi, Robert....
When exactly was this movie made? It sounds a lot like the mid-70's film Obsession, with Cliff Robertson and Genvieve Bujold, but the details are not quite the same...
You said specifically 'Technicolor," which makes me think 50's and 60's... is this more accurate? Do you remember what the father looked like at all, or where you may have seen him since? Was the film American? Or wa it dubbed from another language?
lemme know... I'll keep looking...
