"I believe this may be a Kirk Douglas movie.  The only thing I can tell you is that he is riding a horse down an embankment and is starting to cross a hwy and he is hit by a semi tractor trailer.  I believe the name on the side of the truck is Denver-Albuquerque. This is all I am able to tell you.  I would like to know the name of the movie if at all possible."

You're in luck. That is one of my all-time favourite films. It was Kirk Douglas, and it was called "Lonely Are The Brave". Released by Universal International Pictures in 1962, it co-starred Gena Rowlands and Walter Matthau.
