Classic Film/names of three old movies

Question
1)  About a couple who wants to adopt a newborn baby boy (he works with a printing press (newspaper or something)) and they end up adopting a little girl who dies at the end.

2) about a young woman who finds a baby basket (with a baby inside) outside her apartment door (set in Manhattan perhaps).

3) (I may have dreamed this one up)  It's a little bit like Captain Courageous...I think the boy (older than Harvey in CC) fell off the boat b/c he was smoking and he gets into lots of adventures (I don't know if a fishing boat picked him up or what), but at the end, one of his shipmates is walking on land and he has a leg injury...???

I think I saw all of them in black and white (from the 40's or 50's).

Thanks!

Answer
Hello Ana,

I can help with the first two, but the third one is not familiar to me.

(1) This is the classic Cary Grant and Irene Dunne film from 1941, "Penny Serenade".

Here are a couple of links for the film:

(2) Not quite such a classic, but an enjoyable film nonetheless. This was "Bachelor Mother" from 1939. It starred Ginger Rogers and David Niven.

This one was remade in 1956 under the title "Bundle Of Joy", starring Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher.

Glad to be of help. Cheers.......Mel.
