Classic Film/old movie about man falling in love w/ daughter

Question
Dear Popcorn Guy,

Ijust happened on this site today, and noticed that someone else over a year ago, asked the same question that I have.

I'm wondering the title of a movie that has a young American woman travelling abroad (France, I think).  She happens to meet and older gentleman with whom she forms a relationship and falls in love.  The two travel somewhere else, she gets bit by a snake or injured and lands in the hospital.

When her mother arrives, she discovers that her daughter is in love with her own father...the man the woman divorced or separated from years before.

I believe it was an American made film and in English.  I'd like to say that Lee Remick was the mother, but I cannot be positive of that, especially since I've looked up Lee Remick movies and nothing rang a bell.

Since it's been years, my memomory is a bit fuzzy, the other questioner noted that the father figured out it was his daughter.  I don't happen to recall that detail, but I think we are talking about the same movie.

Do you have any idea what movie this is?  I would love to know, and I would love to see it again.

thanks so much,

Christina

Answer
Hi, Christina...

I remember the question well, because it's one of the few I could never find an answer to... is there anything else you might possibly remember about it? Actors, or what they looked like, other than Ms Remick? Or where you may have seen any of them since? I'd love to find tha answer to this, for my own peace of mind, if not for you...

Let me know... I'll keep looking....
