Question old movie from possibly 40's - rainy night, old convent, woman convict on way to prison, 2 nuns out to prove her innocence, track down old newspaper articles of trial to piece together evidence to prove innocence (one nun kept them to line shelves in pantry), very suspenseful. Can you help with title?
Answer Hello again Carol,
An Internet colleague of mine has come up with the answer for you. It was a 1951 film called "Thunder On The Hill" starring Claudette Colbert and Ann Blyth. Here's a short storyline:
"Convicted murderess Valerie Carns (Ann Blyth) is being transported to prison to be executed when a flood strands her and her guards at a convent hospital. Nurse Sister Mary (Claudette Colbert) becomes convinced of her innocence and sets out to find the real killer."
