Recently I watched the last half of a great action/spy movie. I'm pretty sure it was made in the 70's. There were two main characters, a man and a woman (I didn't recognize either one of them, but the woman was incredibly hot). The movie takes place in England. And from what I could tell, the woman hired the man (I have to assume a p.i.) to help her crack an ancient code before someone else cracks it or her family will be killed. Like I said, I came in to the middle of this film. The two of them drive all around London in her red mercedes trying to crack this code. It ends up that the man discovers that the woman doesn't have a family that's going to be killed and he suspects she's a bad guy. Well, you soon discover that she's a spy and the two of them are basically on the same team. It ends by them cracking the code and saving the life of some foreign diplomat.

I haven't had any luck finding this movie based on what you told me, but I have a friend who's a spy moive junkie, so we're still on the hunt...
