Classic Jazz/Famous jazz bands with NO BASSISTS

Question
Do any famous jazz bands exist with no Bassist at all ? Although it's Rock, I see the Doors did fabulous with no Bassist at all.

Answer
Adam,
There are quite a few bands that don't use a bass player.  These are primarily bands that have B3 players(Jimmy Smith, etc).  The bass part is played with the organ, like the Doors.  Also, some dixieland bands used tuba instead of bass for mobility's sake.  When you get into some free jazz the instrumentation can vary so much from the norm that it becomes random.  I hope this helps.
