Question
The song I think is called Anticipation is making me ??? Who wrote it? When? and what are the lyrics

Answer
"Anticipation" was a song performed by Carly Simon.  As far as lyrics are concerned, I don't have them memorized, so I went to www.carlysimon.com and found them.  They go something like this:

Anticipation

Lyrics by: Carly Simon
Music by: Carly Simon

We can never know about the days to come
But we think about them anyway
And I wonder if I'm really with you now
Or just chasing after some finer day

Anticipation, Anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting

And I tell you how easy it is to be with you
And how right your arms feel around me.
But I rehearsed those words just late last night
When I was thinking about how right tonight might be

Anticipation, Anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting

And tomorrow we might not be together
I'm no prophet and I don't know natures way
But I'll try to see into your eyes right now
And stay right here
'Cause these are the good old days

Simon is interesting because she was (is?) an heir to the Simon and Schuster publishing fortune.  This was at a time when usually big stars came from small places and worked their way up and broke through into stardom.  She still had to do it, but unlike say, Elvis Presley or any of the Beatles or the Rolling Stones, she never had to scramble for money on tours.

Still, she was quite successful as a performer.

Expertise

I can answer quite a few questions on early US R & B, as well as psychedelic folk and rock and late '60s hard R & B and (what would become known as "heavy metal"). I can answer most questions about band line-ups and band record labels from the 1970s. From 1981 to 1990, I was heavily involved in the alternative radio and punk rock scenes and can identify bands with cities (called "scenes") and record labels.

Experience

My brother was an avid album-oriented rock fan in the mid to late '70s and early '80s, and I idolized him and his vast 8-track collection of bands like Sweet, Boston, Styx, Queen, Foghat, and Nazareth.
Later, I got into punk rock, especially hardcore, and worked at a college radio station doing punk rock and psychedelic radio shows from 1984-1989.
