Question
QUESTION: i need to know the name of the song that starts out with the guitar sounding like a car speeding up and changing gears. it goes something like "can't stop my heart..." any info would be appreciated. thanks, john

ANSWER:   I think I know what you are talking about.  I need more info to pinpoint it.
I think you are talking about a mid sixties song.   I think one of the Beach Boys songs starts out that way,  it could also be Leader of the Pack or I want my Baby back,  I think one of them starts out that way.

Can you tell me more about it, like what instruments (  guitars, drums, piano/keyboards?).
Also what kind of vocal, is it a male or female lead vocal,  low or high voice,   and harmony vocals?
I will look through what I have here and see if I can find the song.
I don't have a lot of beach  boys music here though.

QUESTION: it goes cant stop my heart...bumb bumb bumb oh ya baaabby. oh ya cant stop my heart... bumb bumb bumb. its a loud song. one you want to just crank up you know. male singer with guitars and drums. thanks

Answer
I have tried to research this, and the only thing I am getting is that there is a song called Can't Stop My Heart by Aaron Neville.   I suspect that is not the song, although it may be.
I have never heard it so I don't know about the car changing gears guitar sounds, that sounds more like something George Thoroughgood would do.
This is the best I can do,  I really can't remember a song with those lyrics that is as you describe.

I can answer general questions about rock era bands, record labels they were on, and names of songs. Often I can tell the name of the record company that released a song, as well as the name of the song, and the year of release based on some of the lyrics. I grew up during the rock era and I am a musician myself, and always read the album and 45 info for production credits as well as lineups. One of the chat rooms I go to is quite amused at my ability to name a song along with it`s year of release and record label. I was also a record collector for years.
