Classic Rock/Blind faith

Question
I have a friend who has an unopened copy of Blinf Faith he bought in the late 6o's. He also says it was an American version?? The naked girl is on the cover. Now, he thinks this album is so valuable, that he will buy a Ferrari when he sells it, (supposedly when Clapton gets on the bus for the last time). Is he full of bologna? I can see it worth maybe a few hundred, but more then that - Hmmm. Thanks for your time.

Answer
I would think that an authentic copy that is unopened regardless of the cover would
be somewhat valuable.
But with vinyl it is hard to say.
If my memory serves me correctly, that album was released here in the states with an
alternative cover.
I have seen  it with the  girl cover on later versions,  seems to me I have
a cassette around here that has that cover.
As  to the value of it,  man that is a tough one.   Price guides are nearly useless.
What it is worth depends on getting access to someone who really  wants a copy.

So , he is probably right that it is somewhat valuable,  but I doubt he could sell it for
enough to retire on.    A few hundred?   hmmmmm.. perhaps,    but I wouldn't think so.
But again, who knows... if a couple dudes  got into a bidding war on an auction site God only
knows what it would go for.   As I say,  it is all a matter of how bad somebody with a pocket full
of cash wants it.
The only other way to find out would probably be to watch auction sites for copies of it and see what they go for.

I do have to say though,  chances are unopened copies  of nearly anything from when rock was happening is in itself pretty rare.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I haven't been on the net a lot lately.

I hope my answer helps you,   it is the best answer I can give.

I can answer general questions about rock era bands, record labels they were on, and names of songs. Often I can tell the name of the record company that released a song, as well as the name of the song, and the year of release based on some of the lyrics. I grew up during the rock era and I am a musician myself, and always read the album and 45 info for production credits as well as lineups. One of the chat rooms I go to is quite amused at my ability to name a song along with it`s year of release and record label. I was also a record collector for years.
