Classic Rock/Full name of guitarist named Rod on Pawn Stars a
Expert: Chad DuBose - 9/7/2010
QuestionHi Chad this might seem like a stupid question but me and the rock fans at work want to know the full name of the guitarist name Rod who appeared on Pawn Stars the T.V. show as Rod said he toured with the band Triumph and I can't recognize the guy as I know he wasn't in Triumph but probably toured with the band who toured with Triumph. So what band was Rod in and what is his full name as he looked familiar. It might have been an american band but he mentione Triumph so it could be a Canadian band. I appreciate you answering this if you can.
Thank You Sean
AnswerI love that show, but believe it or not, due to a shark bite, I have been down for a few weeks. I must have missed that episode. There was a guitarist named Rick Santers that was part of a later version of Triumph. I am going to try to find a clip of that episode, then I will surely identify him if he is indeed a guitarist worth remembering. Perhaps he was nick-named Rod. Also, many people can say that they "toured" with Triumph as you well know, and may have been a roadie, or perhaps an opening band. This guy has caused quite a stir on many guitar forums throughout the internet. Nobody likes a wannabe. Before I accuse him as such, I would like to see if I recognize him. There are quite a few people throughout Canada and the U.S. trying to identify this guy as genuine or someone just figuring nobody would remember that the great Rik Emmett was the real deal with Triumph, not some guy named "Rod". Let me do some homework on this and I will identify him. I am not saying he is a fake, but I am one of many questioning his participation with the band Triumph. Even Guitar World Magazine's forum has people questioning who "Rod" is. Either he is Santers, or just some guy that was along for the ride during a tour, or just maybe he is the real deal. I will find out. I'll get back to you a.s.a.p.,
Chad
P.S. If he is a fake, he made a fool of himself on national television!!! That would be like me saying I was in Metallica one time!!! Yea right!!....This guy has me and alot of people searching for his identity!! Possibly a guy from Kick Axe? He looks very familiar, still looking. There are alot of people talking about this in the guitar forums on the internet! I'm trying, has anyone else had any suggestions?
