Hi there,

I was listening to the song Wooden Ships by CSN&Y and I was trying to figure out what the lyrics meant.  I can tell it's something meaningful, but can't figure out what it is.

Meaningful??  I guess that is all in your interpretation.  I listened to it again and also pulled up a lyrics sheet and READ it.  From my standpoint, it is a fun song about a voyage as told through the eyes of it's captain.

I checked with 3 human sources and 5 lyric sites and none know of any "meaning" to the song (as was the case with "Ohio" or "Teach your Children Well").

I don't think there is any deep meaning here.

Having grown up during the 70`s, I have a great appreciation for what I consider to be the best music ever recorded. My favourite group from that era is The Eagles and I believe that the summer of 1976 was the best summer for music releases!
