Classic Rock/Classic rock song
Expert: Geoff Wickens - 6/12/2006
QuestionHey Geoff,
A friend of mine solved my dilema when I emailed him this same question...It's Lunatic Fringe, by Red Rider. So close, yet so far. (lemented Fretz?) what the heck was I thinking...lol
Thanks for looking into this for me...It was driving me crazy too. GREAT SONG!

Question -
I heard this song on XM radio, on the classic rock channel, and for those who have XM, they know it lists the song title and band name on the display screen while it's playing.
Anyway, I remember the song saying something to the effect of "Lemented Fretz"? It's a familiar classic rock song that i'm sure every classic rock listener has heard. The singer sounds a lot like cheap trick, but I don't think it's them.
Anyway, i'm sure I have the name of the song wrong...however, some of the words go like this..
"Lemented Fretz!...I know you're out there..
....Twilights last gleaming..."
Kind of has a rhythm sounding like the beginning of "Magic man" by Heart.
HELP! I wanna say it's SuperTramp? Or Cheap Trick, or something to that effect.

Sorry I took so long getting back to you, but this is driving me crazy. I know the song ..... but do you think me, or any of my contacts can remember of find this piece of music? Nope. Yet, we all know it. Every knows about the song by John Foxx and the rock group out of Boston (all named "Twilights Last Gleaming") but none of us can recall or find the song in question. I will keep this file open and once I find it, I will let you know.
Sorry
Thanks for using allexperts.

AnswerI'm glad you found your song .....
One puzzling question .....not sure how Red Rider sounds even REMOTELY close to Supertramp (LOL) .... I'll you you the confusion for Cheap Trick. And - having refreshed myself with Heart's "Magic Man" .... well ... I'll just leave that alone.
But again ... that is only in this humble man's opinion. Music can mean many different things to many different people and they can equate the sounds to different groups or stylings. That is what makes music from the world over so appealing.
Again ... I'm glad you have stopped pulling your hair out.
Thanks for the follow up.
Taking my bable fish out now. (lamented fretz??)
