Question
I am trying to find out who sings this song, I only know parts of the song.  Its goes something like this: "My heart goes boom, boom, boom.  Grab your things I'm going to take you home."  I believe this song to be from the early 80s if not late 70s.  Its driving me nuts, please help.  Thanks

Answer
Ah - this was an easy one.

The song is entitled "Solsbury Hill" sung by Peter Gabriel off the album "Car" released in 1979.

Some interesting facts about this song:

- Gabriel wrote this about his break with Genesis and anticipation of his new challenge as a solo artist. He was inspired after seeing a Bruce Springsteen concert.

- This was Gabriel's first single as a solo artist.

- Even though this didn't have much chart success, it became a radio staple on various formats and remains popular. The timelessness of the song can be attributed to the fact that it was never overplayed by radio stations.

Good guess as to the era.

Having grown up during the 70`s, I have a great appreciation for what I consider to be the best music ever recorded. My favourite group from that era is The Eagles and I believe that the summer of 1976 was the best summer for music releases! Ask me anything about any top 40 group from the mid 70`s to the mid 80`s and I am to say with most certainty, that I will be able to provide you with an answer!
