Classic Rock/Lyric of a song...kinda slow and boring...

Question
QUESTION: I dont know why I want to know really, I dont really like it much, but it's on the radio a lot and Im curious...it's really hard to describe...

It starts off with a "Bumbumbum....bumbumbum...bumbumbum.....bumbumbum....bumbumbum" going up in a scale..for some reason it's always almost reminded me of a hip hop style beat even though it's not...then the chorus kicks in and goes down going "DOO DOO DOO DOO Doodoo DOO DOO DOO DOO Doodoo" On a synthesizer...VERY SLOW

And the singer, who has a sorta high pitched voice in the chorus yells "OOOOOOH YEEEEEEEAH OOOOOOOOOH YEEEEEEEAH"
and some other stuff.

And it goes on for like...a really long time

I dont remember the lyrics to the verses but the backround music just repeats over and over again. The whole thing is extremely slow.

ANSWER:   That isn't much to go on, I would really need more than that to try to identify a song.   I don't know what "hip hop" is.
A wild guess would be "Keep Me Hangin On"  by Vanilla Fudge.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: No no...that's not it...it's a slow slow song. It has a beat goign bumbumbum...bumbumbum...*up a step*bumbumbum bumbum* etc.

Answer
There were thousands of songs released in the rock era, there are probably many that fit your description.  If you hear the song on the radio again, try to remember some of the words, particularly the chorus.   Feel free to contact me again if you hear it again and can get some more info.
In the meantime if I have anything come to mind that it might be I will get back with you.
I wish I could help better with this.

I can answer general questions about rock era bands, record labels they were on, and names of songs. Often I can tell the name of the record company that released a song, as well as the name of the song, and the year of release based on some of the lyrics. I grew up during the rock era and I am a musician myself, and always read the album and 45 info for production credits as well as lineups. One of the chat rooms I go to is quite amused at my ability to name a song along with it`s year of release and record label. I was also a record collector for years.
