Question
Who sang the song "Rock On"?

Answer
Ah yes ...... Little heard of in North America but a musical icon across the pond in the UK. The song was written and sung by David Essex 1973.

Born David Albert Cook in Plaistow, London in 1947, "Rock On" reached #5 on the American Billboard charts. This was his one and only hit in North America. Because of this, some folks call him a one hit wonder - but it is far from the truth in a worldy concept.

In 1999, Essex was named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire. He still tours England on a yearly basis and releases albums through his website.

Having grown up during the 70`s, I have a great appreciation for what I consider to be the best music ever recorded. My favourite group from that era is The Eagles and I believe that the summer of 1976 was the best summer for music releases! Ask me anything about any top 40 group from the mid 70`s to the mid 80`s and I am to say with most certainty, that I will be able to provide you with an answer!
