Question
If you can help me, I am forever in your debt.  There was a song in the 60's, sung by a female (when they had some of the best female voices ever, if you ask me) that has kind of a minor sound, medium slow, and went something like this..."In my room...way at the end of the hall.  I sit and stare at the wall...etc, (can't remember).  And then the plaintiff, strong vocal sound of the chorus, "Over there is the picture he took when he made his bride, over there is the ......(something), over there is the (something) whenever I cried, over there is the (something, something) -Are all gone (or have all died).

Answer
I think you might be talking about In My Room by the Walker Brothers.

In my room, way at the end of the hall
I sit and stare at the wall
Thinking how lonesome I've grown, all alone
In my room

In my room, where very night is the same
I play a dangerous game
I keep pretending she's late
So I sit, and I wait

Over there is the picture we took when I made her my bride
Over there is the chair where I held whenever she cried
Over there by the window, the flowers she left - have all died

In my room, way at the end of the hall
I sit and stare at the wall
Thinking how lonely I've grown, all alone
In my room

It could be that someone else recorded it as well.

I can't find evidence of anyone else having released this song.

I can answer general questions about rock era bands, record labels they were on, and names of songs. Often I can tell the name of the record company that released a song, as well as the name of the song, and the year of release based on some of the lyrics. I grew up during the rock era and I am a musician myself, and always read the album and 45 info for production credits as well as lineups. One of the chat rooms I go to is quite amused at my ability to name a song along with it`s year of release and record label. I was also a record collector for years.
