I believe the song is a seventies song, but not sure. It should be by a male rock group, with electric guitars. The part with the lyrics, below, has soft harmonies.

 This one has me stumped.  It rings a bell,  but I just can't place it.  Can you tell me more about the song,  for example  , is it more folk sounding,  more country ,   more blues ?  It it fast or slow tempo,  what does the singers voice sound like,  is their more than one singer?  Harmony singers?   What instruments,  electric guitars,  acoustic guitars,  pianos?   Also  what period of the rock era you think it might be from,  does it sound,  more 50s?  70s?

Answer
 I have done some research,  and even have the melody of it in my head, and still cannot figure out who it is.  If it comes to me I will send you what I discover, but for now, I have no idea what it is.
 I doubt it is the Boston song "Peace of Mind"   ,  Journey comes to mind.
