Classic Rock/classic rock song I can't figure out

Question
I heard it the other day, it's mellow-- moody blues, ELO type stuff... and I think some of the lyrics are something like, "maybe we can get it right, too far gone to see the light"... or "maybe now we'll get it right."  It has a piano or keyboard part in the beginning of the chorus. Male voice- tenor-- like Christopher Cross or something.

Answer
The only song that i can think of that is similar to your question is a song by TIAMAT Titled TOO FAR GONE

I've been through all of this a million times before
Seems all my demons got me knocking on hell's door
I know it's too late to regret what I have done
But I still love you like the morning loves the sun

Too far gone to see the light
And I will never ever leave this place alive

Too far gone to see the light
No I will never ever leave this place alive

I guess it's fair to say that this round is on me
Caribbean blue has turned to blackest misery
I've put a velvet cloth on everything we've done
But I still love you like a bullet loves the gun

Thanks for the question and i hope this is the answer your looking for.
