some people thought that the original artist was bob dylan but we all know he got it from woody guthrie off of his asch recordings as rising sun blues, but he didn't write it either i guess as far as i'm concerned. but i think that bob dylan took the credit for writing the song and singing it on his first album, "Bob Dylan". i know that eric burton and the animals got it from bob dylan because there was this documentary on rock and roll and they were interviewing some of the members of the animals and they said that they "were influenced by bob dylan especially the house of the rising sun"
